The Effective way to successfully develop an athlete

Success in life is not possible without ongoing or infinite personal development. As a person attains personal goals and reaches new levels of success they find new challenges and the need for higher skill levels to maintain success. This is obvious in Athlete Development, as success allows the athlete to reach higher levels in their sport which increases the need for more specific athletic and personal development. The creation and execution of an Individualized Athlete Development plan is a necessity to allow for a continued climb up the ladder of success. Infinite AD specializes in working collaboratively with the athlete to construct an effective Individualized Athlete Development Plan that include their goals, but also has a focus on the personal habits necessary to be successful both in sports and in life.

“Setting the goal is not the main thing, it is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.”
Tom Landry Hall of Fame Football Coach of the Dallas Cowboys

How do we support athletes?

Infinite AD has developed a program called G.O.A.L.S.™ that allows for the creation of an Individualized Athlete Development Plan (ADP). The ADP is a comprehensive plan with a high level of focus on the attainment of short-term goals that provide the structure toward long term success for the athlete. There are many benefits of an individualized ADP such as improved performance, confidence, and self-regulation, but most importantly, it provides guidance to the training and the decisions the athlete makes on the road to personal success. This success is attainable due to a triad of supports that together encompass the areas outlined in the G.O.A.L.S.™ process. The supports, described below, are teamed with progressive technological tools that increase the engagement level of the twentieth century athlete.

Personal Development Blueprint
The Personal Development Blueprint is the first segment of the ADP and provides the athlete with a vision of where they want to go in the future. The Blueprint establishes long term goals, (1 year, 3 year, etc.), that will provide guidance for the remainder of the ADP. The Personal Development Blueprint allows the athlete to have an eye on the future and make day to day personal and athletic decisions that best align with those goals.
Goal Attainment Plan
The Personal Development Blueprint provides a vision of where the athlete is going and the Goal Attainment Plan provides strategic short term goals that align with the long term goals in the blueprint. The G.O.A.L.S.™ process accesses research proven goal-setting techniques to create an attainable plan and increase the chances of success for the athlete. The Goal Attainment Plan outlines very specific actions (process goals) and results (performance goals) that the athlete will adhere to and work towards. The Goal Attainment Plans are typically used as a season plan, but can also used at specific times of the year when increased focus is necessary both from a physical and a mental aspect. ie. Training Camp, Playoffs, Off-Season, etc.
Detailed Assessment Systems
It is common knowledge that adherence to a plan is the most difficult hurdle on the road to success. This is where Infinite AD is confident it will provide support above and beyond what an athlete requires to be successful. Each athlete working with Infinite AD has access to their own individualized page on the infinite AD website. This includes self-evaluation tools such as Goal Attainment progress and results reports as well as Skills analysis and Game Reflection Reports.

Personal development is not a simple process as there are many facets, both on and off the playing surface, in the life of the athlete. Meticulous decision making is necessary to ensure that the athlete does not become overwhelmed or does not take full advantage of a development opportunity. G.O.A.L.S. Individualized Athlete Development Plans are all encompassing to ensure the plan is suited to the current and future needs of the athlete. The documents below are examples of specific individualized plans we have created with multiple athletes. Ideally, these plans are blended together to create a comprehensive Individualized Athlete development plan that allows for personal development to occur on a daily basis throughout the year. Each of these plans are easily monitored by the athlete on their own personal webpage on the infinite AD website.

In-Season Focus
The In-Season component of the Individualized ADP takes into consideration the long-term development, as well as the daily performance of the athlete. This includes specific goals based on hockey skills (i.e. skating, offensive / defensive skills) or personal skills (i.e. self-control, practice habits).
Training Camp Focus
The Training Camp (or Rookie Camp) component of the ADP allows the athlete to enter camp prepared and with an understanding of what they need to do to have a successful camp. Specific on-ice and off-ice goals are set to allow the athlete to be at the top of their game, physically and mentally, on a daily basis throughout camp.
Off-Season Focus
The off-season component of the ADP allows the athlete to maintain a high level of organization and focus at a time of year when motivation is at a premium. The plan will include working on specific improvement areas, especially ones that are better suited to the off-season, as well increasing the capacity of their strengths.
Education
The Education component of the ADP allows for the athlete to maintain success as a student, as well as an athlete. The plan also outlines educational requirements needed for University entrance and hockey eligibility at the Collegiate level (NCAA and USport).
